Q: Why make it location-based?
A: We thought it was weird that you could be in a room with hundreds of people, but you can't really engage with them using any existing platform.
You either have to introduce yourself to everyone individually, stand on a table with a megaphone and be "that guy", or download yet another event-specific app (with unpredictable capabilities) that you only use for a few days.
All of these solutions are outdated, and can be solved by placing easily-accessible digital content at a physical location...so that's what we did! 💪🏻

Q: I have a million messaging apps like Slack & Discord, how is this any different?
A: buzzl is different because our chats are completely free-flowing. There are no invite links, and no personal contact info is exchanged. You can join a chat when you're nearby, and it disappears when you leave.
It's...basically telepathy, but without all the creepy bits.

Q: I don't wanna share my location and become the next subject of a true-crime podcast, so how exactly does buzzl deal with privacy concerns?
A: Privacy is a huge focus for us!
First off, all content within buzzl is tied to the location of the chat-room itself, and we never track your location as an individual. We check it briefly to connect you to people nearby, or to validate content is coming from a valid location (within a chat's interaction zone), but other than that, you're basically a ghost! 👻
We plan to integrate other protections as necessary - based on your feedback - to make sure everyone feels safe using the app!

Q: Where & when should I use buzzl?
A: We see it being used in basically any densely-populated location; temporary or otherwise!
A few ideas we've seen include: festivals, residential communities, resorts, food halls, convention centers, museums, parks, farmer's markets, airports...you get the idea 😊
As for when it should be used - that's up to you! Use it to make new friends at your favorite music festival, chat with your new neighbors after a move, network at any convention or trade-show, the list goes on..

Q: How are Moments different from other video content like what's on TikTok, Shorts, Reels, etc?
A: The main difference with Moments is our guarantee of authenticity. Right now, anyone can hop into most other communities or platforms, and post content that is highly-edited, or even completely fake (AI, anyone?).
It can thus be extremely difficult to get a truly authentic look at what's happening in certain areas of the world.
